Church Wars

My friend, Amy, just posted on her blog that she saw a sign in front of a church that read:
"No Torture".
She said "that is a VERY good policy for churches to adopt!" LOL!

So, that reminded me of a "fight" between 2 churches that Tim found online.
(BTW, if Tim could make money by finding funny things online... we'd be rich!)

Church Marquee Fight

We laughed SO HARD when we read this.
I want to live wherever these churches are.
(and I'd TOTALLY attend Presbyterian church, because they seem pretty sassy!)

WAAaaaah.

So, my "mommy-group" that I have been involved with for over a year (online...) switched formats... and for SOME cyber-reason unknown to me... I can't post a message, carry on a conversation, keep my journal (it helps me vent out the day...)... I'm SO bummed.

Usually when Tim works these looooooong weekends, I waste time 'chatting' with my cyber-peeps.

I can't do that this weekend.

NOT that I DON'T have anything else to do around this house (like nap)... Not like I don't have any REAL friends to call & chat with...

(Hannah says, "Thanks dad. You didn't listen to mom today when she said 'Grab the dress I bought for Hannah's Birthday...' Instead, you pulled out an 18-month sized shirt for my 3T tummy... I know it is cute and precious, but wouldn't I have looked cuter in that blue dress?")

(crud. Now I have tears in my eyes & want another baby.)

Hannah's Dancing to the New Kids!

I love that my little girl is learning to love the NKOTB at an early age.

NOW:

BACK THEN:

REEEEEEALY Back then:

*They Still make my heart flutter*

I taped their performance on the "TODAY" show last week... (because some of us are now adults & have to be at work at 8:30).

ANYWAY, since she is WIIIIIIDE awake at 12:26am...I put the tape in... She is marching & twirling & just STARING at them dancing. Then she giggles & says "oooo yayayaya"

I still love me some new-kids! October 21, I am being treated & escorted to the NKOTB concert at the XCel Center by my darling friend, Becky.

Will it be strange if I pull out my NKOTB shirts from 1990? (yes, ha ha, I WILL have to sew them all together to cover vital parts of my body that have... um.... shall we just say "grown"... since 7th grade).

Actually - the ultimate horror of it all is... I think my mom "lost" all the NKOTB shirts over the years... Like... I probably told her to get rid of them, but I like to think that they were purposely disposed of by my evil mother (whom I love with all my heart). ACTUALLY - now that I think about how much my mom L-O-V-E-D the NKOTB... (she brought me to 4 concerts & allowed me to 'wallpaper' my room & ceiling with their posters...)... I BET SHE HAS THEM & WEARS THEM UNDER HER SCRUBS AT WORK!!!!!!!!!!! I'm SO raiding her closet.

I DID find my huge 3' x 3' cloth banner... maybe I'll make a skirt. (well, the FRONT of a skirt) LOL!!!!

10 Things...

Ten Things that Make Me Happy:
10. Having 2 empty sinks in the kitchen!
9. Having an empty dishwasher!!
8. The New Beverly Hills 90210 Show! (I'm still 14, thanks for asking.)
7. The fact that the RNC is in St. Paul. GO St. PAUL!
6. THE START OF THE NFL SEASON!!!!! GO VIKES!
5. Knowing that in 6 weeks - I'M GOING TO SEE THE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK!!!!!!! (Told you I'm still 14!)
4. The temperature right now is 61 degrees & I have the windows open & LOVE IT!
3. How freaky all these dumb protesters are... Really?! What are you attempting to prove?
2. How cute my little Hannah was tonight: She tried to crawl up on the couch with me, but couldn't & then ran out of the living room, went to the bathroom, got the stool, brought it to the couch, climbed up. *I WIN MOMMY! Now give me some popcorn.*
1. How precious Hayley is. "In two days, my eyes will be stronger & I won't need to wear the glasses we bought at WalMart last summer." (actual quote.)
Wait... Tied for #1:
#1 part Two: TIMMY made #s 10 & 9 happen for me today!!!
#1 part Three: The fact that Jay Leno said: If Sarah Palin becomes the VP, she might actually be the first Beauty Queen to achieve her life dream of World Peace!!! HeeHeee. Must Watch Miss Congeniality this week...

TEN THINGS THAT MAKE ME SAD:
10. The fact that I didn't get to have Mini-Donuts at the state fair, because I said "Tim, let's not spend money on anything we can get anytime"... Now, answer this... WHEN were you able to walk into SuperAmerica & get a dozen Tiny Tim Mini Donuts?!?!?
9. The fact that right after I said to Tim: Please, don't loose my "McCain08" button that I bought for Auntie Lois... he lost my McCain08 Button that I bought for Auntie Lois. (Sorry Lalo). THEN, when I asked him about it... he said "What button?" ARGH! Men.
8. My Hair. Seriously. I need a hair cut. BUT I had this crazy idea that I want to donate my cut hair to Locks of Love. But they need a minimum of 7 inches below the ponytail... which means I need to grow at least 4 more inches... which will take FOREVER.
7. That the RNC is in St. Paul! Can we PLEASE talk about something else on the news?!? Do we need Live reports every 30 seconds???
6. One of my residents from work passed away yesterday. I'm sad because my boss thinks things happen in "3"s, so she's naming the next 2 to go! (well, to her defense, there is one resident that was told he wouldn't live through the weekend... & he did.)
5. Hayley doesn't leave her glasses on. I don't know if they work. She says she can't see through them.
4. Hmmmm. I'm a pretty happy person. This list is hard for me!
3.
The fact that John McCain meant to choose ME to be his running mate, but forgot my last name. (Come on... HOW MUCH FUN would this country have if I was 2nd in command?!?!)
2. Al Franken commercials. Especially the one that is SO SHOCKING that Norm Coleman would go fishing in ALASKA!!! OMG! My dad goes fishing in CANADA every-year. That's a whole different COUNTRY!! (Mr. Franken... you're stretching a little far to make your opponent look bad...)

1. Our Swimming Pool closed yesterday for the season. & I only went swimming 3 or 4 times this summer!!!

Next Time I'm doing a "5-Sad-Things" list, because it will be easier!

August... The end of Summer.

So, it has been TWO Months almost, since I blogged.

My Dear Cousin Carrie has managed to squeeze in approximately 65 blogs since then.

I can't compete.

The only new news is this...

HAYLEY ANNE HARRIGER needs glasses. I've come to terms with this. It was hard at first... but I realized she's still Hayley... and Uhm... last time I looked in the mirror... I was wearing glasses, too.

Here is a shot of Hayley wearing her new glasses: :P

Photobucket

Seriously - they come in sometime this weekend & they are pink!

Since I'm here... here are some other pictures from August & July:

SUPER FLYING HAYLEY!

The 2020 Olympics are fast approaching & I think we're training for the tallest Olympic Gold Medalist EVER!!

You all know Tim & his quest for useless knowledge... of course he Googled "Tallest Olympic Gymnast" & discovered that the girl considered THE TALLEST was all of 5-feet, 4-inches!

No wonder when I was in Kindergarten, the gymnastics teacher at the YMCA told my mom that "Maybe gymnastics isn't the best place for Sara."
WHY NOT!?!? Just because I was already 150# & 5-foot tall?!?!

Anyway, we enrolled Hayley in a "tumbling tots" gymnastics class during July & August.
She LOVED going to "nymnistikas" every Wednesday! This past Wednesday was the final class.

We're looking into either Soccer or more gymnastics for the September/October schedule. It is something I think is fun for Hayley - getting out, being a big girl, getting away from Hannah for 45 minutes... & Hannah loves it too, because she gets to play with Rosie!
(Rosie is one of the Albus girls that I babysat when I was in High School & College.)
Rosie loves it too, because she gets paid! :)
(& Payback is the best... "Hey Rosie.. we're here & Hannah needs a clean diaper. See you in an hour!")

Tim & I celebrated nine...
NINE! 9! Nueve! Neun! Neuf!!!
YEARS of marriage on August 14.

Tim started a tradition of buying me one rose for every year... and now I told him it is better to buy a dozen & take out the "extras"... He was buying the $4 stems. That was fine years 1 - 4! LOL

Photobucket

I met TWO of my "Cyber-Mommy" friends!!!

Jill is from Chicago. She was in MN on business in August.
Her son Jack is Hannah's age. I "met" Jill through BabyCenter.com's "Birth-Club"...
(I can't wait until she is forced to return to Minneapolis!!!)

Photobucket

I also met another "Cyber-mommy" friend in July!

Photobucket

Eliza lives in Michigan (Ann Arbor). Her Daughter is Jessalyn. They came to MN for their summer vacation at the Mall of America. They attempted to go down-town Minneapolis to check out the Hard Rock Cafe.
Let's just say they got a GREAT tour of the downtown area, but never found Block E or the Hard Rock Cafe! Or wait... did the find it & couldn't find parking? or did they turn right & end up in St. Paul? I can't remember. Anyway. I told them driving downtown Minneapolis isnt' for MPLS rookies.

I think I met the tallest & least-tall "cyber-friend" this summer. Jill tops off just under 5-feet tall & Eliza is on the 6-foot side of the fence.

(I'm pretty sure Eliza's 6 feet tall... I do have one friend at least AS tall if not taller than Eliza, Val is 6'Something. I look forward to meeting her one day, too! Maybe I could meet Eliza & Val at the same time & officially be "The Short One" for the first time EVER!!!)

Strawberries, Corn & Slides, OH MY!

Photobucket

Photobucket
Seriously... the slowest slide ever. She was actually stopped & just sitting there in this picture.
Like... GREASE THAT BABY UP!!
Photobucket

Picking Strawberries on the 4th of July
Photobucket
The black dot on Hannah's left arm.... A GIANT MOSQUITO! No kidding.
Photobucket

A bit of foreshadowing?
On July 4, I woke up to this standing over me. She grabbed my glasses & was goofing off... Of course my camera is sitting on my night-stand.
(and for the record... those are MY glasses, not hers.)

Day Two in Florida

Okay - at this rate, we'll have taken 34 trips to Florida before I talk about this whole trip! LOL

So, Day Two was APRIL 12 --- Happy 34th Birthday Timmy-Boy!!

We went to the Walt Disney World Animal Kingdom.

I promise to write more about it soon! but I just didn't want anyone to forget I really do blog! LOL

Okay...

DAY ONE in FLORIDA.

Well, apparently Hayley only needs 5 1/2 hours of sleep. Tom & Joy left for work/meetings around 7:30 or 8am & Hayley came bouncing into our room! Gotta Love Orlando's Sun!

Many of you know that I am actively involved in a website group of mommies that all have babies Hannah's age. One of my mommy-friends lives outside of Orlando, so we HAD to meet up!

That was the mission for Friday.

We met Jada & Ainsley at Walt Disney World's Down-Town Disney's Boardwalk. A nice little area full of Disney-shopping. It is really nice to have "Real" Disney products, at "Real" Disney Prices (think $25 for a 2T Minnie Mouse t-shirt) ~ without having to go into the Disney Parks (think $60 for a 3 Year Old's admission!).

(Jada, Sara & a few Princesses.)

Ainsley & Hannah "Chillin" in the stroller line-up.
Don't they look SO thrilled to meet each other?? :)

There were a few temptations, but our current financial plans have made me a TOTAL money-conscious freeeeek! Like, for example, I saw a Disney-Princess Towel. The kind with a hood...
the hood had a Princess crown on it & looked like a big, pink Princess dress. I was IN LOVE. Until I saw it was $25. & I KNEW I would need one for each girl... No Thank You!

Jada is a super cool mommy-friend who is expecting #2 this fall! We walked around, shopped, talked, ate, talked, shopped & then let the girls play at Lego-Land!

Hayley built a "Big Red Tower" & the two little ones chased each other up the steps & down the slide a bazillion times. It was 95*. At one point, Jada looked at Tim and said "Wow, look at the Minnesotans Sweat!" She grew up in Central Florida, so she's used to the "Heat".

WHEEEE!

Hannah fell asleep approximately 35 seconds after we buckled her into her carseat!

It was so fun to meet one of my "Cyber-Mommy-Friends". Right before we left, Jada said her husband had spent the day in the "Man-Room" playing Play Station 3. Tim looked at me & said... "So, you could have dropped me off to play PS3 for the past 3 hours, but... you drag me HERE instead?"

Well... the only thing more strange than meeting a cyber-friend is dropping my husband off at her house to 'play' with her husband!

More Harrigers Take Orlando...

So, we went to Orlando. It was awesome, like usual.

The first thing people do is get all wide-eyed & say "OOOOO What Disney Resort did you stay at?"

I smile & say "Casa de Abuela". Which, of course, means "Grandma's House".

So, the most 'eventful' thing of our whole trip was the attempt to leave Minneapolis. Let me tell you... my home town did NOT want us to leave! it took an hour and a half to get to the airport.

First, I forgot my sandwich laying on the couch & we HAD to turn around and take care of that piece of potential nastiness (Jenn... stop twitching)...

Then I had to stop at my work & print our boarding passes, because earlier in the day I stared at the NorthWest Airlines website for 20 minutes wondering... Duh... what am I doing here??

Then the blizzard hit ~ DURING Rush Hour. COME ON! It usually takes about 35 minutes TOPS... during rush hour MAYBE 45... but we got to the airport relatively 'on-time'. We breezed through security & I met the greatest security agent EVER. I apologized that it was taking SO long for us to gather our things & move on... He said "No problem... unless you have a weapon in that bag..." CAN YOU SAY THAT IN THE SECURITY LINE? He did! So, I lifted Tim's shoe up & said... "Only if you consider THIS a weapon!" (I am mean.)

So, we get a bite to eat @ Le Cafe McD thanks to a generous donation from a friend, Kathy, who is a NWA flight attendant. (She gave us the equivalent to $40 in Air-Port food!!). Then we hustle to the gate since it was about 6:45.
#1. Tim was wrong. He said "There won't be ANY food at our gate." There was a Starbucks, A small McDonalds, a Bar and a little sandwich/fruit shop thing. (Did I mention Tim was wrong?)

#2. I see no airplane. and A LOT of people.

#3. The airplane we were waiting for hasn't even landed yet (our take-off was 7:10pm). So, the plane had to land, be de-iced, get to the gate, get unloaded, get cleaned out, board 1st class...
At 7:45, the plane finally gets to the gate. (And Hayley goes to the bathroom 3 times to 'check-things-out'...)

They board 1st Class.

Then instead of the "rows 45 - 50" routine... they just say "Everyone, get on the dang plane."

We get on, sit down (the fastest I think I've ever seen a plane board). Then we sit. And wait. And Wait. Finally we get to go de-ice. Twice.

Around 8:45/9:00, we get cleared for takeoff. My girls must have inhaled a HUGE dose of Hyper because they bounced off the airplane ceiling for the next 2 hours & 50 minutes. We turned on the DVD player, only for it to die about 3 minutes later. Tim didn't read my note that said "Please plug in the DVD Player all day". Darn. Hannah & Hayley got SUPER lucky because we sat behind 2 women and a man who were all 'elementary-age' educators & the man (who bore the brunt of their 'seat-pushing') was the father of an 18 month old & a 3 year old! THANK YOU JESUS!

We had the WORST turbulance I've ever been in. They started the drink service, only to suspend it 3 rows before us. My girls were SO not okay with this. They were whiney and I needed to shove something in their mouths!!! The flight-attendant wouldn't even give us the 3 ounces of water left in the bottle on her way by. Creep-ola!

So, we land in Orlando around 12:45amEST, Local time. For those of you concerned for the passengers of flight 586, Hannah fell asleep as the wheels of the plane touched down in Orlando.

Well, of course we were in row 4,236 and had to wait for everyone else to get off. So, we get our luggage & head to the Harriger's. We get there around 2AM. Why can't we just go to sleep? Oh, just because. So around 2:30, I am seriously about to pass out...

Well. Isn't that enough? Nope! We have SIX whole days left! WHEEEEEEeeee!

I'll start a new post for the other days.

Turning the Page of My Blog...

WOW has it ever been a long time!

So, I have decided to do a daily... or weekly... blog. What should I write about?
The "Tim Harriger" family is SO Stinking boring, that I don't think the "Harriger Family Blog" will EVERY be updated with anything besides "Hannah put on my sandals & walked around the living room today..." and "Hayley is 99% potty trained" (which is AWESOME, but how much do you want me to talk about pee & poo??)

So, here are some options I have considered for my future blog:

My view of politics
My view of 'living green'
My struggle with my/our diet & weight loss
My view on OTHER people that I deal with daily
My view on how cranky a 3 year old can be after a nap
or
My view on recent TV programs... (Warning... HUGE reality TV junky)

Okay- since I am currently blogging once every 4 months, maybe we can all look forward to a "Weekly" blog at best. the Good Lord knows I am on the computer enough, that it shouldn't be too difficult to pop over & update my blog!!!

Well, I'm going to compose a GREAT post about our trip to Florida & maybe sneak in a picture or three while I do that!!!

Happy 2008!

Happy New Year!
We attempted to compose a photo-card for the holidays, but when I printed it... Hayley's face was cut off one & the words "Happy Holidays" were cut in half. Apparently MY 4 x 6 and Target's 4 x 6 are different!

Here are some of the pictures you missed on that card:

Hayley's Three-Year Pictures:

The Girls last September:

Hannah's 1-Year Pictures:

and some "Fun" pictures for your enjoyment:
Hannah & Mommy at the Zoo!

Hayley & Her friends, Anna & "Dora", celebrating Hayley's B-Day!

Hannah... giving herself a bath?

Hannah ~ Breaking the rules, already
(If you've ever read the 'warning' label on a stroller, it says "DO NOT PLACE CHILD IN THE BASKET")

Hannah's one tough little lady!
